Plane crash survivors land at Berwick
From the Berwickshire News. RAF bomber exploded and crashed off Holy Island. Two crew members saved by submarine ‘Sirdar’; third picked up by steamship ‘Melrose’ but died. Holy Island lifeboat transported the two survivors to safety and continued to search for the remaining 9 crew members but none were found.
