Lease of the Manor of Holy Island from the Crown to George Middleton of Seaton, Scotland. 31 Jan 1761
In consideration of a fine of £400 levied on 19 December 1760, and for the yearly rent of £1 and 6 shillings, rights including certain messuages and enclosures, all tithes of hay, wool, hemp, and wool of lamb; tithes of fish; all fisheries with fishing rights; the rabbit warren; all rents and services due of free and customary tenants. Reserving to the Crown the Port Haven and the Castle with liberty to enlarge and fortify the same. To hold for 20 ½ years from 10 October 1770, when the current lease to Middleton is due to expire.
