Inland Revenue Succession duty account for the estate of James Selby, deceased. 23 Sept 1873
His real estate had consisted of an undivided moiety of a farmhold of about 50 acres, and two cottages on Holy Island, devised by the Will of his father Prideaux Selby (Probate 1832). The whole estate was put up for sale by public auction in 1872 by Prideaux Selby of S.Africa and the surviving Trustees under the Will of James Selby and was sold to Berwick solicitor Stephen Sanderson in 1873 for £2100.
