Lease agreement for Holy Island Farm; Henry Collingwood Selby to Anthony Gregson of Holy Island and Edward Gregson of Beal. 9 Jan 1809
A certain term of 5 years from the 12th May 1809, and further term of 16 years if H.C.S. obtains a renewal of the Crown lease of the Manor of Holy Island (some of the Manor lands being part of the premises hereby demised). Rent: £405 p/a for the first 5 years, £450 p/a for the remaining 16 years. Detailed instructions on the system of husbandry and cropping to be followed, together with contingent rents. Original doc.Ref: NRO 683/3/20. The agreement does not contain a description of the holdings, but they were probably more or less the same as an earlier lease to Messrs Gregson and Thompson for 13 years from May 1796; this agreement contains a description of the holdings (see NRO 683/3/19)
